Hands On Private Class
If you learn best working one-on-one, enjoy a custom private class in my Santa Fe studio. Sessions are tailored for each individual student, to help you create the distinctive art you want. I provide my simple, unique explanations and demonstrations of significant aspects of paint, such as Modern Acrylic Pigments. Not well known, these can do so much more than older mineral standards, especially in the new fluid paints, for washes, glazes, and many other interesting uses. My methods include traditional techniques, as well as new contemporary painting techniques such as pouring, glazes on textural grounds and transparent veiling. You also receive vital tips, high quality materials, and the all-important individualized learning experience.
For experienced painters, I have devised an amazing unique system of self-critique to easily discover and resolve aesthetic design issues, along with ways to move forward when you feel stuck. Discover painting techniques rarely taught in art schools, to bring more attention to your work and expand your audience. All ages and levels welcome. Contact me for details. Here is what one artist said recently about his art experience with me:
“I consider myself a successful artist with a long background in painting. So I was both impressed and surprised with how much new art information Nancy imparted during a recent two-day hands-on workshop. I have experienced a variety of them, with a number of good North American professors of art over the years in Impressionism, Abstraction, Realism, etc. but Nancy’s unique customized experience was second to none!
She uncovered key elements I needed, some of which I didn’t know. For example, I had never heard of Modern vs Mineral pigment paints. Very rare to find this depth of ability in a teacher. The one-on-one format was perfect for me, and enabled us ample time to review my past work along with short critiques that gave me new insight on her unique methods for blocked entries, quick exits, opposites and visual tension to attract and hold the viewer. My focused days with Nancy may be the best thing I have ever done for my art.
Regardless of depth of knowledge of each student, she patiently simplifies her extensive art knowledge from her life in fine art, to each individual student. Importantly, it is obvious to anyone in the room, how much she enjoys teaching art! It is absolutely unlike any workshop you have ever taken. Thanks Nancy!”
