Review of Lightwish Soft Oil Pastels by Kuelox

If you want to bring more play back into your artmaking, I highly recommend giving oil pastels a try. Over the past few years I have seen more companies making oil pastels which reflects the growing popularity of this art medium. Not only are there a variety of brands to choose from, but there are many types of sets you can purchase that offer a wide assortment of colors at inexpensive prices.

The video below is my review of a fabulous set of oil pastels called the Morandi set, made by Kuelox and distributed by Lightwish. I hope you enjoy watching it and that it inspires you to try these oil pastels which I found to be of high quality.

Please scroll down to see a few examples of my paintings created with oil pastels. I have also provided links for additional resources at the conclusion of this article. There are links to two other brands I reviewed, as well as an article I published with helpful tips on using oil pastels.

Excellent review of Kuelox Soft Oil Pastels. Nancy explains the confusing terms (soft pastels, oil pastels and oil sticks) in a way that is very easy to understand. Her demos in this review are not only informative but they are creatively inspiring. As a professional artist, I love to experiment with different mediums. Her review has me chomping at the bit to order and “play” with a set of Kuelox Soft Oil Pastels.
